*** MISSION STATEMENT ***
The Newbury Shellfish Department's mission is to support Newbury's shellfishing industry by protecting the public from contact with any shellfish that may carry contamination. The Newbury Shellfish Department strives to provide a safe, clean and sustainable shellfish industry program for the Town of Newbury. This mission is accomplished by working with the Town of Newbury Shellfish Rules and Regulations and in agreement with The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Conditional Management Plan.
Effective May 15th, Oystering Season will be closed for the Summer

N4 Newbury clam flats are currently CLOSED
N2 Merrimack River (Conditionally Restricted Area) is CLOSED
***NOTATIONS ***
When the Newbury Flats status is OPEN, digging activity is restricted to the period between 1/2 hour before sunrise and 1/2 hour after sunset.
Effective April 1, Newbury Flats will be closed on Sundays.
