Information Session and Presentation about Newbury's proposed Multi-Family Zoning Bylaw

Wednesday, April 24, 6:30pm - Newbury Town Offices, 12 Kent Way

Come learn more and ask questions about Newbury's Annual Town Meeting Warrant Article #14 - Proposed Multi-Family Zoning Overlay District Bylaw.

On Wednesday evening, April 24, in the 2nd floor Select Board meeting room at 12 Kent Way, Merrimack Valley Planning Commission Community & Economic Development Program Manager Ian Burns will give a presentation about the State's MBTA Multi-Family Housing legislation and the Zoning Bylaw Overlay District bylaw that Newbury residents will vote on at the Annual Town Meeting on April 30, 2024.

The Newbury Planning Board worked for the past seven months to prepare this Zoning Amendment for the April 30, 2024 Town Meeting, for the Town to comply with the State's Section 3A/Multi-Family Zoning legislation. The proposal was discussed in public working meetings in October, November, December, and January. Public comments were received at Public Hearings held on February 21, February 28, and March 6, 2024. The amendment was revised and re-noticed for a Public Hearing held on March 20, 2024. Following public input and comments, the Planning Board approved the revised bylaw amendment as shown below.

This is an informal opportunity to learn more and ask questions. Please share this information with friends and neighbors – all are invited.
