Newbury Cultural Council Seeking Grants Proposals for FY23 - October 17th Deadline

Newbury, Mass. – The Newbury Cultural Council announces that proposals to receive funding to support community-oriented arts, humanities, and science programs are due Friday, October 17th by 11:59PM EST.

According to the Newbury Cultural Council, these grants can support a variety of artistic projects and activities in Newbury including exhibits, festivals, field trips, short-term artist residencies, or performances in schools, workshops, and lectures.

The Newbury Cultural Council is part of a network of 329 Local Cultural Councils (LCCs) serving all 351 communities in the Commonwealth. The LCC Program is the largest grassroots cultural funding network in the nation, supporting thousands of community-based projects in the arts, sciences, and humanities every year. The state Legislature provides an annual appropriation to the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency, which then allocates funds to every community.

This year the Newbury Cultural Council will distribute a projected $5,400 in grants. Previously funded projects include: Open Air Sculpture, Newbury Library passes to the Peabody Essex Museum, Newburyport Choral Society and Theater in the Open.  The Newbury Cultural Council was instrumental in coordinating and funding its first town-wide celebration, Newbury Town Day.
