MassWildlife to host cleanup at Martin Burns WMA

This spring, MassWildlife will be hosting a public lands cleanup series, with the kickoff being March 26, 2023 at Newbury's very own Martin Burns Wildlife Management Area! Join representatives from MassWildlife and the New England Chapter of Backcountry Hunters and Anglers, as well as special guest Mark Kenyon! Mark is the author of That Wild Country, founder of Wired to Hunt, and host of the industry-leading "Wired to Hunt" podcast. A nationally published writer, and MeatEater's resident "whitetail guy", Mark will be helping out as part of his Working for Wildlife Tour

Volunteers should plan to meet at the Martin Burns entrance off of Orchard Street in Newbury at 12 PM, and plan to work until 4PM. Food will be provided, so for planning purposes anyone interested in volunteering should register ahead of time. Remember to bring work gloves, dress for the weather (cleanup will go on rain or shine!), bring a reuseable plate and waterbottle to cut down on waste, take preventative measures to combat ticks, and wear comfortable and sturdy footwear (suitable for both walking and cleanup).

For more information and to register for the event, visit the MassWildlife event listing, or check out the Backcountry Hunters webpage!
