Finance Department

Mission
The Finance Department is responsible for planning, organizing and directing all financial activities of the Town of Newbury in conformance with Massachusetts General Laws and the town’s by-laws.  The Finance Department coordinates and manages the town’s budget process, including the formation of the Annual Capital Improvement Plan, and assists and advises department managers on financial and operation matters.  The Finance Department also maintains all personnel records, all municipal contracts and agreements and oversees IT operations for the town.  The Finance Department principally supports the Board of Selectmen, the Finance Committee and the Capital Planning Committee, and provides guidance and assistance to other town boards and commissions.
