CURRENT PROCUREMENTS FOR THE TOWN OF NEWBURY

The Town Administrator has been designated by the Board of Selectmen as the Chief Procurement Officer in accordance with Massachusetts General Law Chapter 30B.  Only the Chief Procurement Officer may authorize a procurement on behalf of the Town.  In May of 2009, Town Meeting adopted a by-law whereby any contract whose value is in excess of $25,000.00 may only be awarded by the Chief Procurement Officer after a vote of the Board of Selectmen.  Only the Chief Procurement Officer is authorized to enter into any agreement for the Town of Newbury, unless the Chief Procurement Officer delegates that authority in writing and files such delegation with the Office of the Inspector General.
